Staff is requesting Board of Trustees’ approval of pre-construction services for the Granada High School Varsity Softball Field Rehabilitation Project.

Background:
|
Our Board of Trustees (Board) approved a pool of contractors qualified to provide Lease-Leaseback (LLB) construction services at the October 4, 2022 Board meeting. The pool of Board approved contractors was reviewed, and Robert A. Bothman Inc. was selected as the firm most suited for this specialized scope of work.
A mandatory pre-proposal job walk was conducted on August 15, 2023.
Pre-construction services allow staff to maximize the benefits of the LLB process including the expertise of the general contractor early in the design development process. Contractor expertise in constructability, logistics and cost control/budgeting are key elements that can significantly benefit the design, implementation, and budget of the Project.

Status

A proposal from Robert A. Bothman Inc. was received on August 24, 2023, and evaluated by staff based on Board approved evaluation criteria identified in the request for proposal (RFP), including price, design/value engineering approach, project methods, approach to strategic plan to complete the Project, schedule/delivery date, and responsiveness to the RFP.
Prior to finalization of the guaranteed maximum price (GMP), and prior to Board award of the construction contract, the District will have access to verifiable information regarding all cost including sub-contractor bids, value engineering back-up, contingency breakdown and tracking documents, general conditions breakdown and tracking documents, and contractor fees.
The GMP contract attachments will be provided at the time of the recommended contract approval.
All documents were prepared by legal counsel.

The recommended contacted amount is fifty-six thousand one hundred dollars and 00/100 cents ($56,100.00) This is a Measure J funded project.
