Background:
|
Upon the announcement of Dr. Bowers' intent to retire in July of 2022, on June 14, 2022, our Board approved a Contract with Leadership Associates, a highly regarded and reputable search firm, to facilitate an accelerated pre-screening, and to help guide and assist our Board in conducting an in-depth interview, selection and contract negotiating process in order to have a new Superintendent in place for the start of the 2022-2023 academic year, with allowances for some time for crossover transition and training.
During a June 23, 2022 Closed Session Special Board Meeting, our Board interviewed Deputy Superintendent Chris Van Schaack, an internal candidate for Superintendent of Schools. Upon reconvening to Open Session, Board President Bueno reported that the Board had voted unanimously to extend a contract offer to Chris Van Schaack, with the intent to fill the position of Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District Superintendent of Schools.

Our Board intends to approve an Employment Agreement between the Board of Education and Chris Van Schaack as the Superintendent of Schools for the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District, commencing August 1, 2022 and ending June 30, 2026.
