Transportation Plan - Template 2022-23FY (2).pdf
Quick Summary / Abstract: Staff will present the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District Transportation Plan for 2023-2024, for Board Approval.
Background: Home-to-School (HTS) Transportation Reimbursement was implemented by Assembly Bill (AB) 181 and amended by AB 185. It provides reimbursement funding for School District and County Offices of Education based on the prior year eligible transportation expenditures and Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) transportation related add-on funding.
Status Commencing with the 2022-23 fiscal year, Local Education Agencies (LEAs) that provide student transportation services, will be provided a transportation allowance equal to 60% of the home-to-school transportation expenditures. As a condition to receive this funding, the LEA is required to develop and adopt a transportation plan prior to April 1, 2023, describing the transportation services it will offer, and how it will prioritize planned transportation services for students in Transitional Kindergarten (TK) through 6th grade that are low income. The Plan shall include the following components: transportation services that would be accessible to students with disabilities and homeless children and youth as well as a description of how unduplicated students would be able to access available transportation at no cost to the student.
Fiscal Impact Based on 2021-2022 transportation expenditures, our District apportionment is estimated at $1,547,547.
