Quick Summary / Abstract: The Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District (LVJUSD) offered an innovative Summer School Program, in both in-person and virtual learning formats, for students in Kindergarten through 12th grade and an Extended School Year (ESY) for special education students from preschool age to 18-22 year old transition students. The 2021 Summer School Program provided Kindergarten readiness opportunities, intervention, remediation, and enrichment for enrolled LVJUSD students, as well as opportunities for secondary students to fulfill graduation requirements.
Background: Our Summer School Program in Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District (LVJUSD) offers students educational opportunities to supplement our regular school year instruction, including high school credit recovery. LVJUSD also provides an Extended School Year (ESY) program for eligible students, based on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
Status The Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District’s 2021 Summer School program served 1,227 students in general education and special education classes. Our four-week program was housed on selected campuses across our District: Jackson Avenue Elementary School, Rancho Las Positas Elementary School, Leo Croce Elementary, Arroyo Mocho, Del Valle Continuation High School and Granada High School.
Fiscal Impact Summer School is funded through designated Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) supplemental dollars and restricted Federal categorical and supplemental funds including Title I, Migrant Education,Expanded Learning Opportunity Grant, and Special Education.
