Quick Summary / Abstract:
Background: Career Technical Education (CTE) Month is held each February to celebrate Career Technical Education and the achievements and accomplishments of CTE programs. Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District (LVJUSD), in partnership with Tri-Valley Regional Occupational Program (TVROP), is committed to offering a wide-range of robust CTE programs which span the 15 identified Industry sectors. LVJUSD's CTE programs provide students with opportunities to earn certifications, college credits, and work-based learning, while meeting graduation requirements and being UC a-g approved. CTE month 2022, with its motto of Celebrate Today, Own Tomorrow!, gives us a chance to further embrace the innovation and excellence that exist in the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District CTE programs. This acknowledgement promotes awareness of the crucial role that CTE plays in preparing our students for college and careers, allowing them to contribute and thrive.

CTE plays a critical role in educating America’s future workforce and preparing students to be college and career ready. Today’s cutting-edge, rigorous and relevant CTE prepares youth and adults for a wide range of high-wage, high-skill, and high-demand careers. In partnership with the business community, CTE enriches the lives of students with the knowledge and skills to prepare them to fulfill the evolving needs of business and industry. The LVJUSD mission of graduating students who contribute and thrive in a changing world is enhanced through CTE where students learn to be successful employees as well as future leaders.
Status Resolution No. 033-21/22 has been prepared to encourage our Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District staff and students, along with our community as a whole, to observe Career Technical Education Month.
