Quick Summary / Abstract:
Staff will present drafts of each school site's SARC.
Background:
The governing Board of each school district is required annually to issue a SARC for each site (Education Code 35256). California public & nonpublic, nonsectarian schools annually provide information to parents/guardians and the community to allow public comparison of schools for student achievement, environment, resources & demographics.

Status
:

In accordance with EC 35256, SARCs must be posted to our District and school websites no later than February 1st. Drafts are attached herein for approval. The California Department of Education (CDE) was expected to publicly release pupil data on or around December 16, 2021, but has since announced that data will be released in January 2022. Once available, our web-based forms and templates service provider, Document Tracking Services (DTS), will populate these pupil data sections for each site. The data will then need to be validated by District staff, for all eighteen (18) school sites. Once that process is complete, SARCs will be submitted to the CDE prior to the February 1st deadline. SARCs are designed to provide parents/guardians and the community with important information about each school. The process of developing the report cards gives school staff opportunities to review achievements, identify areas for improvement, and establish a vision for the future. The Superintendent or designee shall ensure that the information contained in the SARC is accessible on the Internet and that the information is updated annually (Education Code 35258). SARCs will also be posted on our District website with a link on each school page.
