Staff will present for approval a three-year contract with AVID, extending from the 2022-2023 school year through 2024-2025.

Background:
|
AVID programming has existed in LVJUSD in various iterations for nearly 20 years. During the 2018-2019 school year, a team of District Leadership and Site Administrators began the work of planning AVID Elementary implementation for Arroyo Seco and Jackson Avenue Elementary Schools at the AVID Summer Institute. In the 2021-2022 school year, we expanded and implemented AVID Secondary at Christensen and East Avenue Middle Schools, as well as Livermore High School.
The AVID framework introduces and reinforces academic behaviors and higher-level thinking at a young age, thereby creating a ripple effect in later grades. As we conclude our fourth year with AVID, we have experienced incredible results since its implementation, improving the depth and breadth of instruction using the AVID instructional strategies. This approach increased the percentage of students we have been able to reach exponentially.

This contract provides our District with locked-in annual rates for the duration of the contract, and includes site-specific services, materials and resources, as well as annual professional development for staff.

Fiscal Impact
:

There is no impact to the General Fund. The cost of the contract, totaling $230,291.00 over three years, will be paid for using Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) dollars.
