Background:
|
In January of each year, the Governor submits a proposed budget to the California Legislature. This begins the debate between the political parties and between the Governor and the Legislature regarding the State's spending priorities.
In May of each year, following the April 15th tax deadline, the Governor submits a revised budget proposal to the Legislature taking into account any new information about the California economy and State tax revenue.
With approximately 90% of our District's revenue derived from the budget of the State of California, we are intensely interested in and impacted by the State's budget.

On January 21, 2022, our staff and Board members attended a presentation by School Services of California about the Governor's proposed 2022-2023 budget. Staff will present a summary of the information made available and discuss the potential impact of the Governor's 2022-2023 proposed budget on our District's budget for 2022-2023.
