Background:
|
Livermore voters approved Measure J, a General Obligation (GO) bond measure, on June 7, 2016. The bond measure authorizes funds to repair and upgrade our District's facilities for all students. Recent projects include a new multi-purpose room and classroom building at Joe Michell K-8 School, the East Avenue Middle School classroom building, the Granada High School aquatic and athletic complex, and a District-wide video projection and voice enhancement system. Major projects that are currently in progress include the Livermore High School physical education and athletics complex and the East Avenue Middle School renovation. The measure requires the formation of an independent citizens’ bond oversight committee consisting of at least seven community members.

Status

Committee members are required to live within the boundaries of the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District (LVJUSD). Employees of the LVJUSD are not eligible for membership on the Committee. Each member serves a term of two (2) years.
We received five (5) applications for the Committee. Staff reviewed the applications and recommend the following citizens for appointment by our Board of Education:
Kelly Bair - member of the PTA community
Jeff Durban - member of the parent community
Harshit Patel - member of the parent community
Glen Underwood - member of the PTA community
Jerome Yalon - member of the community at large and Bond co-chair
