Background:
|
The Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District (LVJUSD) is committed to developing courses that provide students with a wide range of opportunities to prepare students to "contribute and thrive in a changing world." Our Board of Education encourages creating new courses and updating courses that are engaging to our students and prepare them for success in the 21st Century. These new courses include the California State Standards and support students in their pursuit of college and career readiness.

Our high school teachers regularly review course offerings to ensure content reflects current standards and is relevant and applicable. Based on our strong commitment to engage all learners, the following new courses are being proposed in Electives:
Advanced Placement (AP) Macroeconomics
Students will analyze the operation of economics principles across the national economy by examining such measures as employment rates, inflation, government spending, taxes, and output. Students will learn to identify trends in the U.S. economy and develop and analyze government policy responses. After completing the course, students will be prepared to take the Advanced Placement (AP) Macroeconomics Exam. This course is designed to provide students with an academic experience equivalent to that of an introductory, college-level macroeconomics course.
