Background:
|
The Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District (LVJUSD) is committed to developing courses that provide students with a wide range of opportunities to prepare students to "contribute and thrive in a changing world." Our Board of Education encourages creating new courses and updating courses that are engaging to our students and prepare them for success in the 21st Century. These new courses include the California State Standards and support students in their pursuit of college and career readiness.

Our high school teachers regularly review course offerings to ensure content reflects current standards and is relevant and applicable. Based on our strong commitment to engage all learners, the following new courses are being proposed in Mathematics:
Advanced Placement (AP) PreCalculus
AP PreCalculus prepares students for other college-level mathematics and science courses. Through regular practice, students build deep mastery of modeling and functions, and examine scenarios through multiple representations. The course framework delineates content and skills common to college PreCalculus courses that are foundational for careers in mathematics, physics, biology, health science, social science, and data science.
